Yes, schools and FBOs are adding LSAs to their training and rental fleets, but like anything new, especially in the current economy, their numbers are growing slowly. And most of them are away from metropolitan areas and their Class C and B airspace.

I expect it will be easier to find an LSA for rent next year when Cessna's 162 Skycather comes on line with the company's nearly 300 Cessna Pilot Centers.

Naturally they won't all appear at one time, but they should be coming to a CPC near you because it will the workhorse of the sport pilot/private pilot training and rental fleet. And when it comes online, others will be adding LSAs to their fleets to remain competitive.

I wish a near-by flight school had an LSA. I'm stuck with a $139/hr wet C172.

Are there many flight schools out there which will rent LSAs to Light Sport pilots who don't hold medical certificates? I've not seen any in the Washington area...

Amen to that!!! I'd be very interested to see a detailed cost benefit analysis between your run of the mill piper or cessna and the top LSA trainers. Has anyone seen/generated that type of data?
