I gave up instruction when the FAA insisted that "yoke back, houses get smaller; yoke forward, houses get bigger" which is a dangerous practice and in my opinion one that killed JFKjr. For those of you that disagree with me, take your airplane and pull the yoke all the way back and hold it there and see if the technique proves out. Throttle for altitude, yoke for airspeed. These principles have not changed since Langewiesche. I have not checked lately, but when I quit instructing the students were really really bad, but then maybe I am prejudiced in being a Naval Aviator.
