Scott Spangler Takes the Left Seat at Jetwhine.com
In the micropublishing world, content remains king, whether it’s print, video, audio … or some combination of all three. At Jetwhine.com, the blog of aviation buzz and bold opinion, irreverent content about learning to fly, the FAA and policy, business aviation, the airlines and just about anything else aviation has been king since our first story more than six years ago.
Although Jetwhine.com – including the name, much to my wife’s chagrin — was my idea from behind my massive oak desk here at CommAvia, I surely can’t take all the credit for our industry-wide success and the awards we’ve won over the past six years. Four years ago I phoned aviation writer Scott Spangler and asked if he’d consider writing for the blog. “Write for a what?” he asked. The rest of course, is history.
Scott’s added incredible value to the Jetwhine experience for our readers and continues to cleverly weave the news of the day into tales that draws dozens of comments … way more than mine to be honest.
As we enter our seventh year of publication, it’s time to announce a few changes … all good ones I hope. One of the first items on my Jetwhine checklist for the future is to name Scott Spangler editor. I can’t think of a better person for the job.
I’ll assume a more strategic role as Jetwhine.com‘s publisher, which really means folks have found a place where I can be trusted with sharp objects and my own keyboard. Scott … is it plugged in? More on that later.
Please take a moment and congratulate Scott. You’ll find his bio here under the Editor tab.
And don’t forget to keep sending those industry tips that we’ll turn many dozens of engaging stories here at Jetwhine. Now if I can only figure out Scott’s formula …
